Calm Abiding/Insight Meditation

Bringing the wisdom of mindfulness-awareness meditation into our everyday life.

August 6, 2010

The Kagyu and Nyingma traditions of Tibetan Buddhism share with the Shambhala Buddhist path an emphasis on the practice of Shine-Lhatong or calm-abiding/clear seeing – a simple, direct and proven path for awakening the heart of compassion and fully realizing the nature of mind. During this public talk, we will have the opportunity to practice Shine Lhagtong with Changling Rinpoche and discuss how to bring our mindfulness practice into our everyday life.

Changling Rinpoche is a holder of the Nyingma and Rechung Kagyu lineages and is a direct student of HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche from whom he received many transmissions and teachings. Rinpoche oversees teaching monastics, the ritual tradition and ceremonies of the Shechen lineage. In addition, he has taught in Australia and North America, and has been teaching within our Shambhala mandala since 2005. Changling Rinpoche has shared a great interest in the teachings of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and specifically has given teachings on the Sadhana of Mahamudra since 2010 in Halifax.
